Pre-booking is essential for large numbers.
A guided tour with an experienced guide can really enhance your Understory experience. Guides are available by pre-booking for groups of ten or more.

Guides can cater tours to specific interests eg. local wildflowers, a focus on sculpture or to the needs of individual groups - eg art students, small children.
A number of professional artists, living locally, are able to deliver quality art workshops to compliment your Understory visit. Numerous school and art groups have previously enjoyed this opportunity to value-add the experience.
Workshops can be delivered on-site along the trail or based within the Painted Tree Gallery. They can also be combined with visits to the artists own studios.
Session lengths vary, according to the needs of individual groups.

Specialising in works drawn from life, Tony is an award winning painter (including the City of Perth Art Award in 1999 and 2001 and the Bunbury Biennale in 2007). Tony runs the Pemberton and Northcliffe TAFE art classes. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Curtin University (1986).

A painter and sculptor, with two works featured along the Understory trail, Hill exhibits nationally and is represented in numerous important art collections including the Art Gallery of WA, Artbank and the Kerry Stokes Collection. Peter has a Diploma of Arts from Claremont School of Art (1993).

Southern Forest Arts is committed to providing local and regional residents, as well as visitors to the area, the opportunity to engage more deeply in the arts. Skill development workshops are organised several times per year in various creative media.
